Buildertrend and Habitat for Humanity of Omaha team up for Brew Haha 2020

Annual fundraiser evolves into a week-long virtual celebration

Brew Haha 2020

OMAHA, Neb. (May 29, 2020) – Buildertrend is the presenting sponsor of Brew Haha 2020 as part of a longtime relationship between the construction software company and Habitat for Humanity of Omaha. Instead of an in-person food and beer festival, which hosts nearly 2,000 supporters each September, Brew Haha 2020 invites the community to come “together in spirt(s)” for a week-long virtual celebration, June 13-20.

By purchasing a $50 event ticket, attendees will receive a $25 gift card to the Brew Haha partner restaurant or brewery of their choice and be entered into a prize drawing throughout the week of the event. The remaining $25 supports Habitat Omaha.

“We’re passionate about giving back to Omaha, because it’s our own community, where Buildertrend was founded and most of our employees call home,” said Dan Houghton, Buildertrend co-CEO, co-founder and honorary Brew Haha committee chair. “We see Brew Haha as an opportunity to demonstrate our long-standing commitment to Habitat Omaha and make a meaningful impact for local restaurants who need our support now more than ever.”

This sponsorship is just the latest in a years-long partnership with Habitat Omaha. To help the organization build more homes for hundreds of families in the Omaha area, Buildertrend provides their software for free. This all-in-one platform equips Habitat Omaha with a full suite of tools to handle every step of the building process, including scheduling, to-do’s, communication and more.

Supporting Habitat Omaha is part of Buildertrend’s social responsibility initiative, BT Cares, which benefits dozens of organizations each year through financial support and companywide volunteerism. As part of these efforts, Buildertrend encourages employees to utilize paid Volunteer Time Off to give back to organizations such as Habitat Omaha.

“Buildertrend’s team makes a tremendous contribution each year through their volunteerism,” said Ken Mar, engagement and experience officer at Habitat Omaha. “We appreciate the longstanding relationship we have with Buildertrend, whose support has helped us to make a real difference in our community.”

Trading headsets for hard hats, Buildertrend leaders organize volunteer teams to construct homes for Habitat Omaha. Additionally, the company has been named a top sponsor of Habitat Omaha, teaming up with the nonprofit for additional events such as Builders Blitz, Band Build and the Women’s Power Luncheon.

The drive to create positive impact at a local level has continued throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Despite volunteer limitations caused by the pandemic and working from home, Buildertrend employees have continued to give back by participating in Omaha Gives!, and a companywide blood drive benefiting the Nebraska Community Blood Bank. About Habitat for Humanity of Omaha

Founded in 1984, Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is a grassroots organization that builds and renovates houses, forges community partnerships and breaks down barriers. We develop vacant lots and eliminate abandoned homes in blighted areas of North and South Omaha while improving the overall appearance of our community. Habitat Omaha homebuyers are required to complete up to 350 hours of sweat equity before purchasing their homes through 20-to-30-year affordable mortgages. Since 1984, Habitat Omaha has partnered with more than 1,800 families and individuals; this year we will impact the lives of more than 200 families in the Omaha area. In 2020, Habitat Omaha will build or renovate 50 homes and complete more than 150 home repair or improvement projects. For more information, visit habitatomaha.org.
