Buildertrend honored with Seven Seals award for supporting military service

Second annual recognition marks tech company’s commitment to supporting employee service in the National Guard and Reserve

Seven Seals Award

OMAHA, Neb. (March 10, 2021) Buildertrend was awarded the Seven Seals Award through the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for its continuous efforts in supporting a citizen soldier employee.

The Seven Seals Award is presented to employers that exhibit additional leadership and initiative to support its employees who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve.

The seven seals on the Seven Seals Award represent the seven reserve components that the ESGR serves. Those include: The Army National Guard, the Army Reserve, the Marine Corps Reserve, the Navy Reserve, the National Guard, the Airforce Reserve and the Coast Guard Reserve – making this honor the most inclusive award given by the ESGR through the Department of Defense.

“This award recognizes the efforts a company makes to support citizen warriors by providing flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment and granting leaves of absence if needed,” said Ron Boro from the ESGR. “This award is a reflection of Buildertrend’s meritorious leadership and initiative to support the men and women who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve.”

This is the second recognition Buildertrend has received through the ESGR. Last year, Terry Davis, director of service delivery at Buildertrend, received the Patriot Award for his consistent efforts in supporting Alan Epley, a security and compliance analyst at Buildertrend and active member of the Iowa Army National Guard.

The Patriot Award is awarded to an individual supervisor and is the first award needed to be considered for a series of awards through the Department of Defense. This award, along with Epley’s voluntary narrative essay, drew the committee’s attention to the work Buildertrend does to support its military employees, thus, achieving the Seven Seals Award.

“Anytime I have had to be away for military requirements, Terry, and Buildertrend as a whole, ensure that I have everything I need and allow me time to focus on meeting the mission requirements of our squadron,” wrote Epley, in his essay to the ESGR. “Without their support the squadron communication platforms would have been greatly degraded for our XCTC rotation and impacted the outstanding results achieved by the Troops and Platoons of 1-113 CAV.”

Established in 1972, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve works to promote the relationship between reserve component service members and their civilian employers. In recognition of this support, the ESGR grants a series of Department of Defense awards, many of them progressive in nature.

“The work we do at Buildertrend is important, but that should never be the primary focus in our employees’ lives,” said Jeff Dugger, co-founder of Buildertrend. “We want our employees to live their best lives possible. That’s why we’ve built a culture that focuses on supporting each other in what we do outside of these four walls.”
